Title: Non-Profit Development Committee Volunteer

Position Overview: Join our team as a Non-Profit Development Committee Volunteer and play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and sustainability of our organization. This volunteer position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise to drive fundraising efforts, cultivate donor relationships, and advance our mission of making a positive impact in our community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fundraising Strategy: Collaborate with fellow committee members to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals and financial needs.

  2. Donor Cultivation: Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations to secure financial support and expand the donor base.

  3. Grant Writing and Management: Research grant opportunities, prepare compelling grant proposals, and manage grant reporting requirements to secure and maintain funding from foundations and government agencies.

  4. Donor Communication: Draft engaging donor communications, including thank-you letters, newsletters, and impact reports, to recognize donor contributions and demonstrate the impact of their support.

  5. Committee Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow committee members, staff, and board members to leverage collective expertise, resources, and networks in support of fundraising goals.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for the mission and values of the organization.

  • Experience in fundraising, development, sales, marketing, or related fields preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with fundraising software and databases is a plus.

  • Commitment to attending regular committee meetings and participating in fundraising activities. Expectation of 2-4 hours per week.

Title: Assistant to the Director of POP (Palomino Outreach Program)

Hours: Varies – approx. 8-10 hours a month over different days

Position Overview: Assist the Director of POP in serving families referred to the food bank by our partners in the Palomino Neighborhood. In addition to providing food to these families, our goal is to build trust and awareness of the food bank services in this particular neighborhood.

Responsibilities:

  1. Packing food boxes at the food bank for delivery prior to delivery date (approx. 2 hours each delivery).  Coordinate with warehouse manager. Timing at your discretion. 

  2. Accompany Van driver to deliveries and serve families at delivery site and report delivery results to the Director of POP (2 hours each delivery)

  3. Delivery Schedule (as it stands currently):

    1. Oct through  May (school year) - once monthly, deliver to Palomino Park, typically the  2nd Tuesday, 4PM-6PM.  Serve 10-20 families. Families pick up 4:45 – 5:15.

    2. June - (summer school program) – Deliver to Palomino Park two different Tuesday afternoons 2:00 – 4:00.  Serve 10-20 families. Families pick up 2:45 – 3:15.

    3. Once monthly, year-round – deliver to approximately 5 families at their residence. Tuesday morning 8:00AM – 10:00AM.  Fourth or fifth Tuesday of the month.

Please do not be overwhelmed by the job description.  
This is a very fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity. It only takes 8 – 10 hours a month or 2  - 3 hours a week.

The food bank is looking for Van Drivers!

Volunteer Van Driver Position

  1. Must have a valid AZ driver's license without suspensions or limitations that would impact the ability to perform duties. 

  2. Shall complete Van Driver online course and pass final exam with at least 80% correct.  Online course takes 2-3 hours to complete.

  3. Complete checkout test drive with Director of Transportation. 

  4. Should be able to lift 30-40 lb. boxes or totes to load and unload van. 

  5. Be responsible and display the highest level of professional conduct when operating the van as a representative of the PV Community Food Bank. 

  6. Complete Driver’s Log report for each trip.

  7. Communicate effectively with food bank volunteers and Area Captains to ensure timely pickup or delivery of donations.

  8. This position typically donates 5-6 hours a week as a volunteer.

  9. The drivers that we have tell us this is a rewarding and fun position.
