Neighbors Caring, Neighbors Sharing Outreach

The Neighbors Caring, Neighbors Sharing Outreach Program was developed to help the food bank expand its services to families and individuals suffering from food insecurities within the P.V. Unified School District (PVUSD) boundaries. This three-step process involved research, capacity building, and resource sustainability.

The program goals are:

  • Neighbors within the Paradise Valley Unified School District will experience a significant improvement in food security and better food access. Our enhanced food supplies will support an additional 3,000 people.

  • The number of community partners, including businesses and houses of worship, needed to expand the food bank’s reach to the target population. These partners are not just supporters but integral to our success.

  • Your contribution could help cover the program’s food costs. Increased funding means more capabilities to get more food to these partners, who will act as distribution points or hubs in the community.

This project has a significant potential for impact. By increasing the food bank’s capacity to serve more individuals and families, a renewable program will be developed so the PVCFB can serve these areas and neighborhoods by providing healthy and nutritious food, which will be distributed to our community partners. The project’s final phase is sustainability, which involves increasing fundraising efforts and applying for grants to supplement the additional expenses of expanding the operations.
